Washington State History… Ch.3.

April 19, 2010

In chapter 3 the things that I will remember the most are, the Indians and how they made so many useful tools and could make so many things from wood. What I learned is that there are two different types of Indians in Washington State, Coastal and Plateu. Plateu Indians use the wood to make tepees and weapons, Coastal Indians use the wood to make dug-out canoes and long-houses, well weapons too.  I think this was important to our state because they were the first real settlers in our state, until the European people came and forced the Indians away from there homes, and land. So far this has been my favorite chapter. I really like learning about the place that I am growing up in, I think it’s really cool!

Washington State history…What I learned.

In chapter 2 the thing that I will remember the most, is the many different habitats and the animals that live there.  What I learned is that there are many animals that live in Washington state, but many of them live in different habitats.  Like the mountain lion, or the Cougar, lives in many different habitats, like the Willipa Hills habitat, and the columbia Basin region.  This was important to our state because the different animals provided food, and good trading ability.         :P

Washington state History :)

In chapter 1, the thing that I will remember the most is the formation of Glacial lake Masoula.  What I learned is that the mystery of the lake was very big and it took along time for scientists to figure out what caused it, but when they did, they uncovered a big part of Washington’s history.  They discovered that Glacial Lake Masoula was made besause of many different massive floods. I was so interested in this, that the movie almost made me want to become a geologist!   Why I think that this was/is important to Washingoton state History is because, if this didn’t happen then Washington wouldn’t have the amazing geological landform that we do today.   Also this landform brings in alot of tourists.        Washington is a Historic place, and this  is just the beggining of a long ride into history about our state.   I hope I learn alot!   :)

Muhammad Book! For 8.3 – 8.6

January 19, 2010

In this project I learned that Muhhamad made a very big influence in Islamic History. If  I got a chance to add more to my project, I would have colored my Contents page. If I got a chance to take away from my project, I would have planned it better so that I didn’t have to paste some pages together so that the pages are really thick now. I liked this project, because it  wasn’t pushing us to much.

The Ten Tips…

December 15, 2009

Hello, I am a time traveler and I am in the mountains.  It is cold and rainy here so bring a coat and rain gear!  In the last place I visited, the costal plains, there was alot of farming.  So be prepared to trade. When you go to the desert you’ll need a camel, also called ” the ship of the desert”.  “Why?” you  may ask, is because the camel is one of the only animals that can go along time without water and they also will pretty much eat anything. Also in the desert you should wear loose and light colored clothing this is to keep you not-so-hot. You should wear the loose clothing because if there is a sand storm you should be able to cover your face and the rest of your body. I would suggest traveling in the desert in a caravan, a caravan is a group of people traveling together for mutual protection. They often travel with a pack of animals. One last thing about the desert, wear good shoes or sandals, you will be walking a lot, and the sand dunes can get up to 800 feet tall! In oases  there is a good amount of water, so you can take a brake. I’ve heard a lot of nomads stay there and farm there, so if you want to you could do that. Another thing is that there is a lot of date palms, so you can use that to build a house or to make a rope. speaking of houses in the mountains there are no date palms so you can use mud bricks. No matter where you are you should trade, you can trade for water, food, animals, and supplies, such as ropes and boxes.  Thats all for now. I’ll see when I can blog again, but that is all of the advice I have for now.
